Supporting Research and Education in the Pharmaceutical Sciences

Our health depends on pharmaceutical research.

Purpose:

Positively impact the quality of the pharmaceutical sciences in Canada through the support of

  • quality research
  • training of skilled scientists in the field
  • continuing and professional education
  • early career pharmaceutical researchers

Why:

Investment in pharmaceutical research in Canada is at a historic low. As a result, Canada’s role as a leader in innovation, discovery and development of solutions to treat people with significant health challenges has also declined. There is a dire need for pharmaceutical research and development activities in Canada and the training of highly skilled professionals to fulfill that need. Large and small pharmaceutical houses, research contract firms, governments, and universities are in need of pharmaceutical scientists skilled in R & D. This is occurring at a time when academia is progressively moving away from pharmaceutical R & D due to lack of extramural funding, particularly in the sciences.

Registered Charity:

The CPSF is a registered Canadian charity that is now able to provide tax receipts for all eligible donations.
