We invite Expressions of Interest from CSPS members to take part in a Canadian contingent planning to attend the 147th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan (PSJ), to be held March 25-28, 2027 in Hachioji, a city in the western part of Tokyo, JAPAN.

The PSJ conference theme this year is “Tradition and Innovation: A New Stream of Diversity in Pharmaceutical Sciences for Drug Discovery and Healthcare”, and will feature an International Symposium session organized by the Division of Pharmaceutical Biology on the topic of “biology-based pharmaceutical sciences (i.e., research involving biochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology)”. The session will include podium presentations from 2 invited Canadian academic speakers that will be selected by the PSJ Organizing Committee. https://pub.confit.atlas.jp/en/event/pharm147

For Canadian university professors interested in being considered as one of 2 invited podium speakers, please email CSPS Board Member Dr. Michael Doschak mdoschak@ualberta.ca with a title and brief abstract of your proposed talk by the Fri Oct 30, 2026 deadline. Two CSPS Travel Awards of $500 will be made available to the 2 speakers selected by PSJ peer-review for oral podium presentation, however invited speakers will be responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses.

In addition, Abstracts for General Session Oral and Poster Presentation will be accepted on any theme, and need to be submitted to the appropriate PSJ scientific committee, using the PSJ Portal. General Sessions (Oral/Poster Presentations) will be held in the following six divisions; (A) Pharmaceutical Chemistry, (B) Pharmaceutical Physics, (C) Pharmaceutical Biology, (D) Pharmaceutical Health Sciences and Environmental Toxicology, (E) Pharmaceutical Health Care and Sciences, and (F) Others.

To submit an abstract, a PSJ Overseas Membership Fee of 3,000 yen (approx. CAD $30) will need to be paid online in advance of uploading your Abstract.
